The struggle to find the perfect foundation is very real. I am still yet to find just 1 foundation that ticks all the boxes. So until that day comes, I am constantly trying new foundations and new ways to apply them. So continue on to hear all about my current favourites.

These foundations will most defiantly apply to you differently as no ones skin is the same. This is just a guide of my current favourites if you are looking to get a new foundation. Please also keep in mind my skin type is combination oily. So in this colder weather I have been finding my skin quite dry in some areas, other than that I do tend to be on the oiler side.

Firstly I do always apply a primer, I change it up from the Benefit Porefessional original, and their Matte Rescue version. As well as the, Smashbox Photofinish Primer and the Hourglass Veil primer.

Similar to most people I have been on the Nars Sheer Glow wagon for a wee while, and I do often keep this foundation nearby as I tend to go back to it as it never really steers me wrong. I find the best way to apply this foundation is with a denser foundation brush, so I use my Sigma Flat Top F80 to apply and it always leaves my skin nicely highdrated and healthy looking. Don’t be scared of the name sheer glow if you are oily, as I still love this product even when I am on the oiler side. As long as you have a good primer and set it well, you will be absolutely fine!!

Onto the Two Faced Born this way Foundation, this is my idea of an every day foundation, it’s buildable and works well with many skin types. I wear this one when I am on the go, or I am not too fussed about what my make up is like. The finish is describe as satin which I do agree with, but with a good setting powder you can keep your oils at bay, if you’re like me and are on the oiler side. The way I have found best to apply this product is with a Beauty blender (please ignore that mine is dirty). I feel like this gives the best finish for the foundation, as well as spreading it evenly for me!

Lastly is a new addition, it’s the Hourglass Vanish Stick foundation. This foundation is FULL coverage, I love it for going out and for creating that flawless look. A little does go a long way with this foundation, you don’t want to go over board otherwise it will look cakey and seperate on your skin. So work with the foundation and you should be able to create that nice base. My favourite way to apply is with the beauty blender but it does also work well with my flat top brush. The foundation does have a specific brush that is advised to use apply as well, So it was made to be applied with a brush. However, you should try both and find what one you are feeling the most.

Let me know if you have tried any of these and what your favourites are, I would love to hear and to find out new foundations to try!
