Over New Years my boyfriend and I headed over to Sydney to bring in the 2017 together. We were there for a short period of 6 days, but that didn’t stop us from seeing some amazing sights. Keep reading for info on where we visited and what I recommend!

On the first day we landed, we walked through The Grounds of Alexandria, which is one of the coolest places I’ve ever been to. We don’t have anything like it here in New Zealand. It includes a few restaurants and cafes, then it’s surrounded with stalls of drinks and nibbles.

We spent a few hours here, and it’s all well priced. I would recommend checking this out if you have a chance, but make sure you go on a cool (ish) day as it does get very hot with minimal areas to cool down in.    All in all it is defiantly one of Sydneys must go in my books!

The next day we went on our way to Bondi Beach, because no matter what they say you can’t go to Sydney and not see Bondi. Luckily the weather was a little cooler (still 28 degrees) so it made our costal walk a lot easier. We began in Bondi beach and walked around to Bronte beach.

We stopped pass Mackenzie’s Bay and Tamarama Beach before ending in Bronte Beach. This is a very easy walk, it takes about an hour but you don’t even realise as there is such amazing views and many places to stop at on the way.

Below is a shot of the Bronte Baths as you enter, it’s such a majestic looking rock entry. So photogenic you have to stop here for a picture, no doubt. The further away you walk from Bondi the less populated and easier it is to swim in, however the beaches were all very stunning.

Without a doubt Sydney has great shopping, however it can get very tiring and you just need a rest after a while. Sydney is never dead in the entertainment. Right outside Pitt Street Mall, you can alway find something going on that lifts everyone’s vibes. It’s a great atmosphere and very contagious to keep you going on those busy Sydney streets.

To bring in the New Year, we watched the fireworks out on Milson Point, we were right underneath the bridge so we could see the fireworks from all angles. It was a stunning show and the best New Years I’ve had so far!   Completely would recommend going overseas somewhere with someone your close with and just celebrate life. It was a great experience and I would do it 10 times over.
